  • Calvin Gardner is now official

Rather, I have been officially Calvin Gardner for a long time. Well, not long as long in eternity, but long like as in over fifty years of existence.

Well anyway, I am officially with a domain name. A domain name is that thing you write after the www in a website address.

Yes, you got it! CalvinGardner.com now exists! Look it up!

And Thanks to Daniel Gardner, the domain that existed for about six months or more, is now online! Thanks again Daniel (when you think of Daniel Gardner,  ThinkGardner.com).

  • More New Websites - in Portuguese that is

Plans are off the table finally and four new web sites are up and running. Since my web site for Bible studies has plenty of space, and since Daniel is willing to do the work needed, the four works the Lord has used us to plant since 2004 are now sharing space on my web site. Each web site has its own set of Bible studies, and a picture of the group in the city.

If you want to look them out they are:
Igreja Batista Bereana - Presidente Prudente, SP - www.PalavraPrudente.com.br/prudente
Igreja Batista Fiel - Bataguassu, MS - www.PalavraPrudente.com.br/bataguassu
Igreja Batista Bíblica - Três Lagoas, MS - www.PalavraPrudente.com.br/treslagoas
Igreja Batista Fundamentalista Bíblica  - Jaciporã, Dracena, SP - www.PalavraPrudente.com.br/jacipora

  • New Website: www.PalavraPrudente.com.br

Well, it is done, for better or for worse. I have bought the domain names www.palavraprudente.com.br AND www.palavraprudente.com (I bought the .com domain so no one else would purchase it and make for confusion again.

My son Daniel took on the task of building the new site, a job I am extremely thankful for and pleased with the production.

As of January first, my new domain is on the air.

Yes its focus is still mainly on reaching those who speak Portuguese as there are very few sites in Portuguese that uphold the fundamental doctrines of the Word of God.

However, there are many English Bible Studies and books on the site too. So please make yourself at home visiting the site - www.PalavraPrudente.com.br

  • Website

After personal contemplation, family discussion, sounding out the brethren and research as to availability I decided on a new website name. Ironically the new name is the one that the Brazilian brethren first suggested. They suggested it because it is the name of the printing arm of our multi-layered ministry here in Brazil which is Imprensa Palavra Prudente (Prudent Word Press), a name that is a spin off of the name of the city where we live - Presidente Prudente. Therefore the new name for the site is: www.PalavraPrudente.com.br. For now this new name points to my former site but in time we will get things rearranged.

So as to not be susceptible to confusion, I also bought the name www.PalavraPrudente.com. Then, since this was so much fun, I bought www.calvingardner.com too since the e-mail it provides is cheaper than my present e-mail provider - www.netaddress.usa

Now you know how my cyber space is coming along.

By the way, that new website that brought confusion to my well-established website seems to be giving ME new hits. From the regular 300-350 downloads a day I was getting, since the clone's site has gone online, my downloads have risen to be 550-750 per day! See for yourself on the table below (week of 14-21 Oct 2006)

Don't get left behind! Come visit us too!  Bible Studies in English too, plus my blog.

  • New Server

Now that I changed my website - www.ObreiroAprovado.com - to a new server  I will begin thinking of a new web name for my website.  There is another website with ALMOST the same name. It is like mine but has a '.br' on the end of it classifying it as residing in Brazil.  You would not believe the times my colleagues write me or mention to me that my site can not be found on the web.

    I say, "huh?"

"Yes, that's right", they reaffirm, "It does not come up on my computer."

I then have to carefully explain that my site does not have the identifying .br on it and "please, try it again".

I made up magnets with my website name duly with a red X on the ".br" to hint that the page can only be found without the ".br".  Now, you want to hear what I hear? Listen:

"Why does Pastor Calvin not like Brazilians?"

A major "huh?" on this one.  Seems the red X on the .br leads some to think I am racist against Brazilians.  This after spending 28 years among them working happily to spread the Gospel to them, deaf, hearing, poor, rich, suburb or rural.

Therefore, I am looking for a new name in websites.  But until then, look us up: www.ObreiroAprovado.com
